United States of Europe vs. United States of America
In recent months, the Institute For Human Sciences at Boston University has held a series of lectures on the changing relationship between Europe and the United States.
On this week’s show, we heard historian, author, and teacher Timothy Garton Ash attempt to answer the question: “Could a United States of Europe Rival the United States of America?”
Professor Ash teaches at Oxford University, and is a fellow at the Hoover Institution. His field is contemporary European history. Following his lecture, we heard a response from Michael Ignatieff, director of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard University.
